FAPRI-UK began in Queen’s University Belfast and is now at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute. Initially models of the agriculture sector in Northern Ireland were produced. Over time the models have been expanded to cover the different regions of the UK (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales). The models have been used to analyze a variety of different issues for the UK including CAP reform, dairy quota elimination and environmental issues. Recently, stochastic projections have been added to the output of the project and used to analyze crop insurance options.
