Hoa T.K. Hoang
Hoa Hoang has been with FAPRI-MU since beginning her Ph.D. program in Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Missouri in 2010. Her research involved modeling and analyzing the rice markets and policies in Southeast Asia, with a focus on major rice trading and consuming countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. During her doctoral program, Hoa spent several summers at the International Rice Research Institute, based in the Philippines, to study the global rice model and conduct field trips to Southeast Asian countries. As a Research Associate at FAPRI-MU, Hoa develops structural commodity models and investigates issues related to food security, biofuel policies, US fruit and vegetable markets and policies.
Hoa has a Master’s degree in Social and Applied Economics from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio and a BA in International Economics at Foreign Trade University in Hanoi, Vietnam.
