Deepayan Debnath is an international market and policy analyst in the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute at University of Missouri (FAPRI-MU). His main responsibility is to develop, maintain, and update the international biofuels model. He also does research on international agricultural markets. Prior to joining FAPRI-MU, he was a post-doctoral research associate at FAPRI-CARD at Iowa State University, where he was responsible for international cotton model and played a major role in developing the stochastic international modeling system. He has presented his research in countries such as Italy, Turkey, and India.
He earned a Ph.D. and master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University. His dissertation was mainly focused on bioenergy and water economics. He has a bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Kalyani, India.
