The mission of the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute at the University of Missouri (FAPRI-MU) is to provide objective analysis of markets and policies.
Since its inception in 1984, FAPRI-MU has developed and maintained comprehensive analytical systems that focus on the food and agricultural sectors. These systems are used to make market projections and evaluate the consequences of policies for agricultural producers, consumers and taxpayers.
FAPRI-MU puts a great deal of effort into maintaining the integrity and independence of its analysis through extensive peer review by academic, government and industry experts. FAPRI-MU does not advocate or oppose specific policies, but rather provides the information and anlysis people need to make more informed choices.
U.S. research partners include Texas A&M University, the University of Arkansas, Texas Tech University, and the University of Nevada, Reno. FAPRI-MU also collaborates with research institutions in other countries to improve understanding of issues related to food and agriculture.
